Barack Obama Is Not A Socialist
February 25, 2010
That is the message President Barack Obama presented to a group of business leaders yesterday.
Some of what President Obama had to say:
“Contrary to the claims of some of my critics, I am an ardent believer in the free market.”
”I believe businesses like yours are the engines of economic growth in this country.”
“I firmly believe that America’s success in large part depends on your success.”
President Obama then went on to speak to the gathering of CEO’s about his plans to reform health care, impose new regulations for the financial industry, amd to move America towards a “green” economy.
Barack Obama claiming he supports free market economics is about as believable as Bill Clinton saying “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.”
Gallup Poll: Majority Of Democrats Have Positive View Of Socialism
February 5, 2010
According to a recent Gallup Pool 53% of Democrats view Socialism in a positive light.
So if 53% of Democrats are Socialists, what does that make the other 47% ?
Marxists?
Communists?
Astroturfers?
Election Day 1988 was only days away. Ronald Reagan was headlining a rally in Nevada. He said the options were the same as “when I stood before you.” Reagan framed the Democratic “choice” as one for “liberal policies of tax and spend, economic stagnation, international weakness, accommodation, and always, always blame America first.”
Reagan-era framing is regaining its relevance. Fair or not, liberalism’s worst stereotypes have returned from the dead to haunt Democrats. “Tax and spend liberal,” it’s back with the charge of being soft on security threats – a claim that dogged Democrats from debates over crime to the Soviets to terrorism.
Democrats branding deteriorated across the board from November 2008 to the close of 2009, according to the McClatchy-Ipsos poll. Democrats’ 17-percentage point advantage on taxes became a 2-point GOP advantage. Democrats’ 30-point advantage on the deficit became a 7-point GOP advantage. Democrats’ 9-point advantage on protecting the public against terrorism became a 7-point GOP advantage. The numbers were a light on Barack Obama’s new political terrain, a landscape eerily reminiscent to liberals of the bad old days.

University University Professor Takes On Glenn Beck…And Loses
January 24, 2010
You’ll have to read a bit of the article before reaching the part where I point out the glaring fact that Clemson University professor Steven Marks has no idea of what the hell he is talking about.
Viewers tuning into MSNBC at 5 p.m. on Friday would have seen Chris Matthews riffing on President Barack Obama’s speech in Ohio, while CNN’s “The Situation Room” led with the earthquake in Haiti.
But Fox News wasn’t focusing on the day’s news. Instead, host Glenn Beck ran through the atrocities of Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, and Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara — “the true unseen history of Marxism, progressivism and communism” as Beck described it — with some implied lessons for today.
Over the past year, Beck has used images from Nazi rallies or the Soviet Union when stoking fears of creeping socialism in the United States. And he’s often placed historical figures into the far-out theories he diagrams on his chalkboard. But in Friday’s hourlong documentary, titled “The Revolutionary Holocaust: Live Free … or Die,” Beck doubled down on the use of imagery pulled from the 20th century’s totalitarian past to make a point about citizens needing to be wary of government overreach in the present.
Beck, in teasing the documentary Thursday, claimed that “progressives” don’t want the public to know about this history and that it’s “not being taught in classrooms in America.”
Not everyone who watched his history lesson was convinced — especially some professional historians.
Clemson University professor Steven Marks, author of “How Russia Shaped the Modern World,” said that while Beck doesn’t explicitly tie the left-wing totalitarian regimes of the past to contemporary liberals, that’s what “he’s hinting at here.”
“No one in their right mind is going to defend Stalin or Mao or Che Guevara,” Marks said. “The implication is that this is what’s going to happen if Democrats get their way. This is just a complete lie.”
(Hey professor Marks, ever hear of a Democrat named Anita Dunn? Yes, THAT Anita Dunn, the White House communications director who said that Mao Tse Tung is one of her favorite political philosophers? Do the folks at Clemson actually pay you not to pay attention?)
Obama Buddy Plans To End Capitalism
November 7, 2009
This weekend we will be bringing you a series of articles that may escape your notice otherwise, but that we feel are important enough for you to know about them.
In this one, learn how Obama supporter George Soros wants to remake the world’s financial system.
Having purchased, rented, or placed a down payment on all the political influence up for sale in America, leftist troublemaker George Soros now plans to ramp up his war on markets worldwide by creating an “Institute for New Economic Thinking” (INET).
“The system we have now has actually broken down, only we haven’t quite recognized it and so you need to create a new one and this is the time to do it,” Soros told the Financial Times last month.
Soros said he wants Communist China to run this new financial system. “You really need to bring China into the creation of a new world order, a financial world order,” Soros said.
If that doesn’t send a chill down the spines of freedom lovers in America and elsewhere, nothing will.
In an interview with Der Spiegel last year Soros said European-style socialism “is exactly what we need now. I am against market fundamentalism. I think this propaganda that government involvement is always bad has been very successful — but also very harmful to our society.”
As preparation for INET, which already has a functioning website, Soros gathered economists to plot his renewed drive for world statism. One of those economists is Joseph Stiglitz, a member of the Socialist International. Stiglitz sits on SI’s Commission on Global Financial Issues, which was created “to address from a social democratic perspective the ongoing global financial crisis.” Of course to socialists a capitalist economy is by definition always in crisis, but that’s a discussion for another day.
INET’s website quotes socialist Stiglitz saying, “The financial crisis has caused a moment of deep reflection in the economics profession, for it has put many long-standing ideas to the test. If science is defined by its ability to forecast the future, the failure of much of the economics profession to see the crisis coming should be a cause of great concern.”
Soros, the de facto owner of America’s Democratic Party who spent over $20 million to prevent President Bush’s reelection in 2004, plans to shell out $50 million for INET over a decade and hopes matching funds will bring in another $150 million.
Everyone Is Asking What Michael Moore Is Talking About
October 17, 2009
Film maker Michael More usually has a lot to say.
The fact that not many people understand what he is saying is usually the case.
And his latest film is no exception.
Michael Moore is confused.
His new movie, “Capitalism: A Love Story,” begins by suggesting that all was well until Ronald Reagan became president and cut the top 90 percent income tax rate. Everything was downhill from there.
But by the end of the movie, he says the problems really began in 1945, when Franklin Roosevelt died without enacting his proposed Second Bill of Rights, which would have “guaranteed’ everything from a “remunerative job” and a “decent home” to “adequate medical care,” a…Read the rest of this entry
When Is An Oath Of Office Not An Oath?
September 22, 2009
One of our subscribers has some serious (and well founded) concerns with the lack of a vetting process regarding President Obama’s “Czar” appointments.
She has written a sample letter to send to members of Congress in the hope of seeing some accountability.
After the recent Van Jones debacle, we urge all of our leaders to contact their Senators and ask them the following:
Dear…
When you were sworn into office you took an oath to”protect and defend the Constitution of the United States”.
My question to you is; did you believe it when you said it or was it just more of the pomp and ceremony that accompanies
such an event?
Our Constitution is being assaulted daily with the intent to systematically destroy it and make it non-relevant.
Those calling themselves “progressives”, as if that covers up their statist intent, are using numerous strategies to attain their end.
The most dangerous of those strategies is the proliferation of special advisors appointed by the president.
These czars undergo no scrutiny by the senate and their true powers are undefined.
I am not writing to make accusations about the political and social beliefs of these people.
This strategy allows the president to gain significant power.
The balance of power between the executive, legislative and judicial branches is critical to maintaining our republic as the founding fathers had intended.
Article 2, Section 2 of the Constitution states in part:
The President shall have power and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls.
WHERE IS OUR SENATE?
WHY ARE YOU ALLOWING THIS TRAVESTY TO CONTINUE?
How To Annoy The Hell Out Of Congress
September 19, 2009
For quite some time now, we here at the Freedom Medium have been urging all of our readers to contact their members of Congress and make their voices heard regarding their opposition to health care “reform.”
Some of the biggest voices in the conservative ranks have been instrumental in pointing out the twisting of facts and the outright lies of the supporters of what is quite possibly the worst piece of legislation ever written.
For instance, after reading this entry from Michelle Malkin, it appears to me that Joe Wilson was right!
Glenn Beck asked the question is it healthcare or a freedom grab?
The Mobfather, Rush Limbaugh, asked Whose Swastika’s, Speaker Pelosi?
All of this, combined with millions of you contacting your members of Congress, showing up at town hall meetings, and attending Tea Parties is having the desired effect.
Not only is public support for Obama’s healthcare plan ebbing, now Congressional supporters of the plan are bickering with each other!
Don’t stop now, the battle is not over, we have to keep up the pressure, but all of us making our voices heard is making a difference!
Take a look at this story from The Hill to learn how there is now virtually no GOP support for the health care reform bill:
Senate Democrats are going to have to move forward on healthcare without a single Republican supporter after Sen. Olympia Snowe said Tuesday she could not back the Finance Committee’s bill.
Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) failed to win any Republican backer despite weeks of intense negotiations behind closed doors to strike a deal.
Snowe (Maine), who was one of three Republicans who backed the $787 billion economic stimulus package, was being lobbied heavily by the White House, and some centrists view her refusal to strike a deal with Baucus as troubling. But concerns about how the plan would be paid for prompted her to back away in the hours before its release.
“I do have concerns and I’m not sure they can be addressed before he issues [legislation] tomorrow,” Snowe said.
Faced with the prospect of having to pass legislation without Republican votes, Obama’s chief political adviser David Axelrod met with Senate and House Democrats on Tuesday to stress the importance of party unity on healthcare reform — a message most directly aimed at centrists who now are critical to its passage.
Democrats control 59 seats in the Senate. Without a…Read the rest of this entry
Obamacare Is On The Ropes, Let’s End The Fight
September 9, 2009
The battle over health care reform is quickly coming to a close.
And just as in a boxing match, we have our opponent on the ropes, and now is the time to deliver the knockout.
There are two groups who, without their support, the health care reform bill is DOA.
The first are three Republican Senators who are “on the fence.”
Contact them and let them know that if they don’t land on our side of the fence, we will put them out of a job the next time they come up for election.
They are:
Charles Grassley-IA
Mike Enzi-WY
Olympia Snow-ME
Contact them and let them know that we will not accept a compromise.
The other group are members of Congress know as the “Blue Dog Democrats.”
They will be facing re-election in 2010, which means they must have their feet held to the fire to do the right thing.
These folks have the power to stop this bill from ever making it through the House.
(If you need an added incentive to contact them, just think about the hissy fit that Nancy Pelosi is sure to have.)

American’s Deserve This Type Of Health Care
September 7, 2009
The debate over health care rages on, and it is far from over.
There is no middle ground, one section of America whole-heartdly supports the plans put forth by the White House, while the other section is steadfastly against it.
In the hopes of bringing this controversy to an end, we would like to suggest a compromise.
Being that it is a given that, if the bill becomes law, there will need to be a database of all of the people covered, our idea is to split the database into two distinct groups.
The first group would consist of those people who do not want any government involvement in regards to their health care.
The second group would consist of those who want coverage under a government-administered plan.
This should please everyone.
The folks who have coverage and are satisfied with it can simply get on with their lives, without any fears of what they view as government intrusion, while the people who want the government to take care of them also get their way.
However, the reason the emphasis is on the word should is that there are some inherent drawbacks to such a plan.
Perhaps the biggest one is that the federal program is bound to gravite towards a European-style health care system, which millions of people have advocated as a step in the right direction.
However, these folks would be getting the health care that they deserved.
So as a public service to the folks who would welcome the same sort of health care coverage as is available in Europe, but as with the health care reform bill itself, have absolutely no idea of the details, we present the following:
Be prepared to deliever your own baby, perhaps on the bathroom floor.
For the ladies, you may want to plan to give birth in an elevator, or in a hospital toilet.
Keep in mind that mistakes will happen, such as your appendix bursting three weeks after it was removed.
Many health care reform supporters also point to Cuba as an example of a small communist country that provides it’s citizens with universal health coverage.
Filmaker Michael Moore also did a documentary about health care under Castro.
The problem is, the fact that when Fidel needed an operation, he had to go to Spain to have it done is just one of the details that this Sicko left out.
Finally, for those of you who don’t believe anything unless it is told to you by a member of the mainstream media, perhaps the following video will prove informative:
Those of you who are hoping for a nanny state to take care of you, be careful.
Be careful you don’t get what you hope for.
Breaking News!! NEW Lies From The Obama Administration On Health Care Reform
September 1, 2009
We have just discovered a report titled :”The Economic Case For Health Care Reform.”
This piece of health care reform propaganda was put together by The President’s Council Of Economic Advisors, and we would like to take issue with some of the conclusions they reached, as well as some claims by some other misguided zealots.
These may not be new lies, it’s hard to keep track with all of the crap that the White House is putting out there, but they are things that everyone needs to know and think about.
1. The only way to avoid soaring federal deficits is to control health care spending.
Really?
With HR 3200 and the myriad of other health care “reform” plans being proposed by the Democrats estimated to cost over one trillion dollars over the next ten years (and, as happens with anything the government gets it’s hands on, it’s likely to be double that) how in the world is that not going to add to the federal deficit?
HELLO!!
The only thing keeping this country up and running right now is borrowing money from Chinese loansharks.
You numbskulls can’t pay the bills you have now, and you want to do something that will require you to borrow even more money?
2. Health and Human Services head Kool-Aid drinker, Kathleen Sebelius makes the ludicrous claim that the only way to slow Medicare spending is to slow overall health care spending through federal legislation.
Hey Kathleen, you’re wrooooong!!!
The Congressional Budget Office, in their usual nonpartisan way, suggest a different method.
Such as asking wealthy seniors to pay more.
Or bumping up the Medicare eligibility age by two months each year, until it would reach age 70 in 2043.
Sounds like a better idea that signing the deed to the USA over to the Chinese.
3. Another suggestion is cutting health care spending increases to 1.5% per year.
Oh yeah, there’s another pearl of wisdom.
The American economy is on the ropes, tens of millions of people are out of work, and these idiots want to create a situation that will cost the country even more jobs!!
Right now, I think I need a doctor, because this is starting to make me sick!
However, before we wrap this up, here is one more slap in the face of reality for all of you who are brain-dead enough to think that the President’s proposal is a good one:
We have heard various plants from ACORN, Organizing For America, and other members of Obama’s Army at town hall events asking why we simply don’t adopt a nationwide plan on the order of what was signed into law in Massachusetts three years ago.
People were told at that time that health care costs woul be lowered.
Health insurance premiums rose 7.4 percent in 2007, a little over 9 percent in 2008, and are expected to be 9 to 10 percent higher this year.
Nationwide. the average increase for the same time period was 5.7 percent.
On average, your typical family of four in Massachusetts pays one third more for health insurance than families in the rest of the country.
Is this starting to get through to any of you Obamaities yet?
THE GOVERNMENT IN MASSACHUSETTS IS RUNNING HEALTH CARE, AND IT COSTS THE CITIZENS MORE!!!!!
We’ll be back tomorrow.
I’m going to go annoy the hell out of some health care reform fanatics by having a beer.
In the meantime, click here to read the Economic Advisors Report.
