Barack Obama Is Becoming An Astroturfer
January 25, 2010
Is President Obama about to join the Tea Party?
Probably not.
However, the same administration that made dozens of untrue accusations against the Tea Party movement no seems to be adopting the same tactics that they were falsely blaming on a grassroots movement of concerned citizens.
Who is Ellie Light?
I predict you’ll start seeing the question as a popular bumper sticker soon (a la “Who is John Galt?”…and voila, someone has already made a t-shirt!).
It’s a handy rhetorical rejoinder the next the White House or your nutroots neighbors and co-workers try to tar the Tea Party or any other grass-roots revolts against President Obama as phony, top-down operations.
When Obama’s Soros-funded, Big Labor-directed, K Street-organized goons engage in classic projection and you need a glib way to call out the pot calling the kettle black, just snap back:
Who is Ellie Light?
A Cleveland Plain Dealer blog first broke the story over the weekend of a “suspicious” letter-writer named “Ellie Light” who submitted more than a dozen pro-Obama letters to the editors in recent weeks using addresses from Philadelphia to California and all points in between. Open-source-optimizing blogger Patterico has added much more information on both “Donald Trump Astroturfing” (”a letter published in multiple places from one person claiming to live in multiple cities”) and “David Axelrod Astroturfing” (”identical letters published in multiple places claiming to be from different people”).
From “Yes We Can” To “OK, I Get It”
January 24, 2010
President Obama’s first State Of The Union address will try and re-assure the American people that he “feels their pain” and that he is actually going to do something about it.
Good luck with that one Mr. President.
Seizing a chance to reconnect, President Barack Obama will use his first State of the Union address to try to persuade the people of a frustrated nation that he’s on their side, with a familiar sounding agenda recast to relate better to everyday struggles.
In a time of deep economic insecurity, Obama will use this stage on Wednesday to offer hope after a grueling, grinding first year of his presidency, aides say. For the many who think the United States is still on the wrong track, Obama will attempt to present a clearer sense of how everything he’s pursuing fits together to help.
And for jittery Democrats facing re-election this fall, Obama will seek to give them an agenda they can sell to voters.
Obama will propose ways to help the middle class. But any new ideas probably will play a supporting role to the plainspoken narrative he wants to tell, that his agenda works for people despite their growing doubts.
“Obviously you want to write a speech in a way that is interesting enough that people want to listen, and that leaves them feeling a sense of momentum and progress,” senior Obama adviser David Axelrod told The Associated Press. “But these are serious times. I don’t think this is a time for rhetorical flights of fancy.”
What to expect in the speech, which comes during a rocky period for Obama?
Heavy does of health care, despite the setbacks of the past week, and job creation. Obama will address the budget deficit, his bid to take on the financial industry, energy, education and immigration. All those issues, he says, fit into his plan to rebuild the economy.
I Am So Proud, My First Death Threat (I Think)
November 15, 2009
It’s possible that after all the time I have spent doing this, I have become successful.
Any time that a conservative can bring a liberal to hint at taking violent action, you must be getting too close to the truth for them to be comfortable.
I say that because I think I have just received my first death threat.
An article I did a while back, Barack Obama Appoints Doctor Death As Health Care Czar, has generated some interesting comments, but one it received on Friday tops them all:
“Dear Karl, It’s great that you agree with Emanuel because, we have just been appointed by Emanuel to decide about you and we have decided we should not waste any more resources on you.”
“I hope you understand that, as you indicated, “there comes a time when a person is no longer of any use to the state and must therefore be terminated.” Sorry, Karl, “it’s just the progressive thing to do.”
Seeing as how this person couldn’t even spell my name correctly, I feel compelled to go very slowly and explain things to him.
Those of you reading this who have an IQ that is more than that of a goldfish will be able to understand the parts where I am being serious, and where I am being sarcastic.
You Kool-Aid drinkers will have to find someone to explain the difference to you.
“We have decided we should not waste any more resources on you.”
If only that statement meant what I would hope it did.
Because if it means the government is going to leave me the hell alone, stop trying to dictate every aspect of my life, deciding what is best for me in spite of what I think, I would take that as welcome news.
As would tens of millions of my fellow Americans.
….”there comes a time when a person is no longer of any use to the state and must therefore be terminated.” Sorry, Karl, “it’s just the progressive thing to do.”
See, this is where I get confused.
Like most statements that come from liberals, this really makes no sense to me.
Is this guy saying he is going to try and kill me, is he trying to be sarcastic, or is this a lame attempt at humor?
If this is suppossed to be a threat, I’ll have to try and find the time to be scared, I am too busy to do it right now.
If he’s trying to be sarcastic, well, that’s one of the usual reactions that you get from a liberal when you point out something that that leaves them drawing a blank when it comes to disputing your facts.
And if he’s trying to be funny, I must have missed the punch line.
In any event, there is one thing I would hope to see in my lifetime.
And that would be liberal who could face reality.
Oh well.
I probably have a better chance of seeing Elvis and the Pope singing a duet.
A Declaration Of War Against Liberal America
October 27, 2009
In yesterday’s article, we pointed out how for years liberals have led an all-out assualt against everything that is right about America, and have relentlessly attacked the very principles that this country was founded upon.
And how, for the most part, average everyday conservatives have left the battle to the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, et al.
I have some really bad news for you socialist left wing traitors.
The free ride is over.
Because the years of effort you have put forth trying to tear down this country and everything that it stands for can best be summed up in a phrase attributed to a Japanese military leader:
“I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”
History is vague as to if those words were actually spoken by Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, but I would be hard-pressed to find a phrase more appropriate.
Those sentiments were echoed by Nancy Snyder, a woman from Philipsburg Pennsylvania who has the following to say at a town hall health care meeting:
People, that is not an “Astroturfer” or a “Nazi” saying those words, that is a patriotic American who is sick to death of letting liberals run amok in America.
Rather than being an “organized mob” the folks who call themselves members of the Tea Party Patriots are simply average, working-class Americans who are demanding honesty and accountability from their elected officials.
That troubles the leftists because honesty and accountability are concepts that are foreign to their way of thinking.
You did not expect to hear our voices raised when you slapped us with “stimulus” packages in the hundreds of billions of dollars, “bailouts” of banks and car companies which were no more than your first socialistic steps towards taking control of American industries.
Now you want to do something similar by limiting executive salaries.
And, along with your other cockamamie schemes, ballooning the federal defict to levels beyond belief.
We are fighting back with Americans For Prosperity, whose members are “committed to educating citizens about economic policy and mobilizing those citizens as advocates in the public policy process.”
“AFP is an organization of grassroots leaders who engage citizens in the name of limited government and free markets on the local, state and federal levels.”
It is becoming hard to keep track of how many times President Obama has violated the Constitution of the United States, yet few if any of you on the left has seen fit to hold him to account.
A growing number of people are wondering just how far President Obama will go when it comes to ignoring one of the main documents on which this country was founded.
We have already seen his choice for director of the Department Of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, label returning veterans as potential domestic terrorists.
Simply because someone owns a gun or has served in America’s military, this crony of President Obama considers them to be a threat to domestic American safety.
When the biggest threat to domestic American safety is the mindless notions of Janet Napolitano and her minions at the DHS.
When it comes to our country’s domestic safety, I would much rather rely on the Oathkeepers, whose membership is made up of currently serving amd military veterans, as well as fire fighters and members of law enforcement.
They understand exactly what it means to swear to uphold the Constitution.
All of you on the left condoned the actions of the extremist fanatical group Code Pink, who would attempt to block the entrances to military recruiting centers while calling the recruiters themselves murderers, among other things far too vile to repeat here.
And not one liberal voice was raised when radical groups such as the members of the Westboro Baptist Church would go to any extreme to disrupt the funeral services of a brave soldier who died in Iraq of Afghanistan.
You stood by while these animals would curse at the fallen soldier’s family members, spit on the caskets and so on, bringing even more sorrow to a heartbroken survivor.
So patriotic Americans who understand what it means to make the ultimate sacrifice for one’s country formed the Patriot Guard Riders, who have made it their mission to show their respect for our fallen heroes, and to shield the mourning family and their friends from any protestor or group of protestors.
For one brief moment after 9-11, I thought that this country could bring itself back to what it once was.
As I watched members of Congress stand on the steps of the Capitol and sing God Bless America, it gave me hope that maybe the time had come where we would all be united as Americans.
That feeling didn’t last long.
It didn’t take long for those on the left to go back to their shrill bickering against everything that made this country the greatest nation on Earth, which gave birth to the 9-12 Project, committed to promoting the values and principles put forth by this nation’s Founding Fathers.
Like I said earlier, conservatives have sat back for years and put up with all the activities of the left that were unpatriotic and flew in the face of things that were moral and decent.
And when the sleeping giant woke up and started to speak out, the name calling started.
Sorry to tell you libs this, but we are not part of a “vast right-wing conspiracy”, we are not Nazis or Astroturfers, or any of the other things that have you so upset now that we are finally speaking our minds.
We are decent, hard-working, moral and patriotic Americans who love this country and will no longer sit back and be quiet while a bunch of immoral socialist fools try to tear it asunder.
And if you are a liberal who is upset by our actions now, you haven’t seen anything yet.
When the 2010 elections roll around, you will see some CHANGE that WE can believe in!
Democrats Use Nuclear Option On Obamacare
October 17, 2009
Sneaky? Yes
Underhanded? Of Course
Dirty Pool? You Bet
Does any of this bother the Democrats? Fat Chance
House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) held a hearing this morning to certify that H.R. 3200 — the main House Obamacare bill which was the subject of all the town hall rage in August — has met all requirements to pass as a “budget reconciliation” measure.
Under reconciliation, the bill can be passed by a simple majority vote in the Senate — just 51 votes — and will be given preferential treatment on the House floor as well. The Dems have apparently invoked the “nuclear option” to shut out Republicans and ensure the bill is passed before the end of the year.
The bill certified for “reconciliation” is the Ways & Means version of H.R. 3200 that was passed out of committee before the August break, and before it was read aloud at town hall meetings across the country and blasted…Read the rest of this entry
The Day Obamacare Died: Obama Concedes The Death Of Health Care Reform
October 7, 2009
What caused the death of Obamacare?
Some will claim it was the actions of Tea Party attendees.
Others will say it was people speaking out against health care “reform” at town hall meetings.
Perhaps, as happened when Hillary Clinton tried a similar scheme when Bill was President, the more facts that people learned about the plan, the less they liked it.
It might have been the failure of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to gain the support of the “Blue Dog Democrats.”
Radio talk show hosts, such as Rush Limbaugh, spending hundreds of hours revealing the hidden details, may have been a factor.
Rationed care, euthanasia counseling, an enormous pricetag, and the fact that some numbskull who couldn’t get a job at the DMV was now going to be deciding your medical treatment also entered into the equation.
Regardless of the reasons, at least President Obama left us a reminder of his eforts:
Jimmy Carter Speaks On Racism, Revisionism, And Republicans
October 4, 2009
Former President Jimmy Carter recently made the ludicrous claim that opposition to Barack Obama is based upon racism.
A few days ago, he denied making that statement.
On these pages we have disputed his racism claim in terms that even a peanut-head like Mr. Carter should be able to understand.
However, for those of you who may be coming in late, perhaps President Carter is changing his tune because, as we have stated earlier, people don’t oppose President Obama’s policies because he is black, they oppose President Obama because of his policies!
And of course the majority of the voices raisied against the President are those of Republicans.
So what caused Carter to try and take back his racial slurs against Tea Party protestors, people speaking out at town hall health care reform events, etc., and more importantly, does he really think the rest of us are as delusional as he is?
Because that is the only possible explanation as to how he thinks we would forget his words.
Here is his original interview:
“I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he’s African-American.”
That statement seems fairly plain to me.
No taking it “out of context”, no need to put a “right wing” spin on it.
It’s fairly plain that Carter is saying that if you speak out against President Obama, it is because you are a racist, or at the very least that you have tendencies towards racism.
All because the man leading America is a black man.
Now however, Carter is revising his remarks:
So which one is it Jimmy?
Are we racists, or are we just part of a “fringe” element?
You know, Jimmy Carter has always struck me as being so stupid that if it was raining chicken soup, he would run outside holding a fork.
And his latest remarks have only served to confirm that belief.
Someone please take President Carter by the hand and explain to him that Tea Party protestors, town hall attendees, and Republicnas themselves are not racists.
Speaking out against the President is not racism.
It is called democracy.
Then try and make him understand that two million people showing up for a 9-12 event in Washington D.C. is surely not a fringe element.
Point out to him that, if he makes a statement that is recorded, it’s a bit silly to say “I never said that.”
Last of all. find him a comfortable chair, take him out to his peanut patch, and let him go back to visiting whatever world it is that he lives in.
Jimmy Carter, Tea Parties, And Racism
October 3, 2009
The misguided fools who, perhaps out of a sense of desperation, simply won’t stop trying to play the race card, still don’t get it.
Folks who protest the President’s policies at Tea Parties and town hall health care meetings are labeled as racist rednecks who just aren’t comfortable with a black man being President.
Dozens of members of Congress, political pundits, and so-called “journalists” have made the claim that racism is behind any criticism of President Obama.
Former President Jimmy Carter removed any doubts about his being a total buffon when he stated:
“I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man.”
I would have thought that the race card would have played itself out by now, especially after the President himself has stated that he doesn’t feel that criticism directed at him is based upon the color of his skin.
And I give him credit for that.
President Obama knows that his being a black man is not what causes people to disagree with him regardless of what all of these race-baiters claim.
His policies are what cause people to disagree with him.
We don’t disagree with his policies because he is black, we disagree with him because of his policies:
His takeover of the automobile industry.
(After “Cash For Clunkers” ended, car sales returned to the same dismal levels. After it cost taxpayers billions of dollars.)
His relentless push for “health care reform” when virtually every poll shows the majority of American’s opposed to it.
(And his absolute refusal to step back and start over.)
His adding of trillions of dollars to the federal deficit.
(Not only will your grandchildren be paying off this debt, what happens when the Chinese demand their money back?)
His appointment of more “Czars” than there were during the Romanov empire, who are answerable only to him.
(We didn’t oppose his “green jobs” appointee Van Jones because he is black, we opposed him because he was a self-proclaimed communist and a 9-11 conspiracy nut.)
His continued “warnings” to Iran in regards to their nuclear program, while they thumb their noses at him.
(After recently saying that “Iran has been put on notice”, they showed their contempt of his “notice” by test-firing two ballistic missiles.)
His “stimulus” package, which hasn’t done a damn thing to stimulate the economy.
(Don’t believe that? Check the unemployment statistics.)
Those and other policy decisions and proposals are why myself, folks attending a Tea Party, and millions of other Americans are critical of President Obama.
Even a peanut-picking pinhead like Jimmy Carter should be able to understand that.
When Exactly Did I Become A Racist?
September 22, 2009
When he was a candidate for President, Barack Obama promised us Hope And Change.
And in one instance, that promise is coming true.
I have had to change what I had always believed.
And I hope somone can tell me why.
You see, in today’s political landscape, I am seen as a racist.
The President appears on the David Letterman show and downplays talk about racism.
Yet because I don’t agree with the President, I must be a racist.
At least that’s what such members of Congress as Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Barbara Boxer tell me.
As well as many members of the media.
Even former President Jimmy Carter has made the allegation.
My dilemma is, I don’t understand how I have gone astray.
I have always (and still do) based my viewpoint about someone based upon their character as an individual.
Not based upon their race, creed or color.
I have always figured that if someone is a good person, then they are a good person.
And if someone is a worthless individual, then they are worthless.
Their religion, country of origin or skin color is not a factor.
Judging someone by their ethnic background, religious beliefs or skin color is not just immoral, it shows a decided lack of intellegence.
Let’s face it, someone has to be really stupid to attach a label to an individual or to a group of people based upon such critera.
And just as asinine is anyone who claims that anyone who disagrees with any of President Obama’s policies is a racist.
Yet that is exactly what is happening in America today, and that is what confuses the hell out of me.
I have been labeled as a racist because i don’t agree with President Obama’s policies.
The claims that I disagree with President Obama because he is black shows just how morally bankrupt certain sections of American society have become.
I don’t disagree with President Obama’s policies because of his skin color, I disagree with President Obama because of his policies.
I would like to issue the following challenge to those race-baiting blowhards who try and use racism as an excuse:
Have Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, hell, even bring Ronald Reagan back to life, and have them espouse the same sort of socialist policies advocated by the President.
Then watch the reaction of myself and millions of other Americans.
Then you better find yourselves a new argument, one based in reality this time.
I’m not going to concede a damn thing, but let’s examine this racism claim a bit further.
You claim that I don’t like/disagree with the President because he is a black ma and I am a white man.
So how do you explain the following (and I’m going to spell things out and go real slow so that you nitwits playing the race card may be able to understand:
Former Attorney General John Ashcroft always reminded me of Joseph Goebbels, and scared the hell out of me.
One of my favorite politicans of all time is JC Watts.
I think Richard Nixon was a devious nutcase.
A few weeks ago, I met with Michael Steele and hope I have the chance to do so again. I don’t impress easily, he impressed me.
I feel that Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews are two of the stupidest individuals to have ever drawn a breath.
Had he won the nomination, I would have been proud to have voted for Alan Keyes.
I think that Bill O’Reilly is a phony and a self-promoting blowhard.
I could go on and on with this.
However, for those of you reading this who understood a few paragraphs back where I was going with this, no further explanation is necessary.
And for those of you who have reverted to claims of racism in order to attempt to hide your own ethical shortcomings, no explanation is possible.
How Does Two Million Teabags Sound?
September 13, 2009
When they are being carried by almost two million Tea Party protestors, they sound pretty loud.
Loud enough that people across the Atlantic Ocean can hear them, as reported here in the UK’s Daily Mail:
Up to two million people marched to the U.S. Capitol today, carrying signs with slogans such as “Obamacare makes me sick” as they protested the president’s health care plan and what they say is out-of-control spending.
The line of protesters spread across Pennsylvania Avenue for blocks, all the way to the capitol, according to the Washington Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency.
People were chanting “enough, enough” and “We the People.” Others yelled “You lie, you lie!” and “Pelosi has to go,” referring to California congresswoman Nancy Pelosi.
Demonstrators waved U.S. flags and held signs reading “Go Green Recycle Congress” and “I’m Not Your ATM.” Men wore colonial costumes as they listened to speakers who warned of “judgment day” – Election Day 2010.
Richard Brigle, 57, a Vietnam War veteran and former Teamster, came from Michigan. He said health care needs to be reformed – but not according to President Barack Obama’s plan.
“My grandkids are going to be paying for this. It’s going to cost too much money that we don’t have,” he said while marching, bracing himself with a wooden cane as he walked.
FreedomWorks Foundation, a conservative organization led by former House of Representatives Majority Leader Dick Armey, organized several groups from across the country for what they billed as a “March on Washington.”
Organizers say they built on momentum from the April “tea party” demonstrations held nationwide to protest tax policies, along with growing resentment over the economic stimulus packages and bank bailouts.
Many protesters said they paid their own way to the event – an ethic…Read the rest of this entry
