Bush Was Wrong, And Obama Is Right
March 3, 2010
To hear President Obama and his fellow Democrats tell it, every problem that America is facing is due to the policies of the Bush administration.
It’s only a matter of time until we hear press secretary Robert Gibbs place the blame for record snowfalls and sticking gas pedals on Toyotas on George W’s shoulders.
So can someone please explain to me how the Patriot Act, a law that President Obama called a “shoddy piece of legislation”, is suddenly a good thing?
Obama has called on Congress to extend three provisions of the Patriot Act that are due to expire at the end of this year.
The conditions that President Obama hopes to extend relate to wiretapping, business records, and potential terrorists acting alone.
The roving wiretap clause allows authorities to monitor the phone records of an individual, not just a particular phone number.
This is a handy tool in the fight against terrorists who can frequently change phones.
The business records provision allows law enforcement to seize various records of a suspected terrorist, the most important being financial records.
I don’t mean to sound flippant, but in the war against terrorism, as in many aspects of life, by applying the principle of ”follow the money”, authorities can gain quite a bit of intelligence.
And the “lone wolf” provision allows for the monitoring of an individual suspected of being involved with terrorist activities while not being linked to a particular terrorism cell.
During the George Bush administration, the Patriot Act was derided as “an infringement of our civil liberties.”
During the Barack Obama administration, provisions of the same “shoddy piece of legislation”
are being renewed in the war against terrorism.
Or, to use the current White House terminology, against “enemy combatants.”
The “most ethical administration in history” is fast becoming the most hypocritical administration in history.
Former Foe of George Bush Executed
January 25, 2010
After all of this time, it seems that George Bush knew what he was doing.
This man was only indirectly a foe of President Bush, but he was a foe to all of humanity.
Including his fellow countrymen.
Today, Iraq executed Ali Hassan al-Majeed, the Saddam Hussein henchman widely known as “Chemical Ali.”
The atrocities against the Kurds in Halabja resulted in the deaths of over 5,ooo people, and there is no way of knowing for sure just how many people died as a result of the actions of this mass murderer.
President Bush was right not to simply ignore this fiend and the madman who supported him, Saddam Hussein.
The video will give you some idea of the depravity of this madman, be warned, it may upset some of you.
Senate Win For Brown Is George Bush’s Fault
January 22, 2010
Trying to put a positve spin on Scott Brown’s election victory in Massachusetts, President Obama declared that “the anger that elected Brown is the same anger that elected him, and it goes back eight years.”
Well, I’m glad he cleared that up for us.
I knew that George Bush had to be the reason that one of the most liberal states in America would elect a conservative to the United States Senate.
Obama Already Knows Who He Will Be Running Against In 2012
November 5, 2009
This shouldn’t come as a big surprise to anyone.
It’s not like It’s a deep, dark political secret.
Actually, it should be fairly obvious to everyone.
In 2012, Barack Obama will be running against the same man he ran against in 2008.
No, not John McCain.
The man Obama ran against in 2008 is the same man he will run against in 2012, George Bush.
If the truth be told, he is still running against Bush.
As the Democrats suffered huge losses in two states that were firmly in the Obama column in last year’s Presidential race, Obama traveled to Wisconson to give a speech.
During his remarks, President Obama had this to say:
His administration faced a “financial crisis that threatened to plunge our economy into a Great Depression, the worst that we’ve seen in generations.”
“We had record deficits, two wars, frayed alliances around the world.”
In other words, it’s all George Bush’s fault.
With all due respect Mr. President, it’s time to step up to the plate.
We all know that President Obama didn’t walk into a job where he wouldn’t be facing any major problems.
On the other hand, Mr. Obama surely knew what he would be facing.
A financial crisis?
Millions of people are out of work, thousands more continue to lose their homes, the stock market is still in the tank, retirement accounts are still losing money.
Just this week, the Senate passed a bill to extend unemployment benefits.
And in their infinite wisdom, they also tacked on a provision giving a tax credit to first-time home buyers.
President Obama, how in the hell is someone going to buy a house if they don’t have a job?
Record deficits?
Between this administration’s out of control spending, not to mention the pricetag we will face if the health care reform package passes, America’s federal deficit will reach levels undreamed of by even the gloomiest economic forecaster.
Two wars?
We still have two wars, and we are not one step closer to resolving either conflict than we were the day you took office.
Yet as President Obama focuses on passage of health care reform, members of America’s military continue to die in Iraq and Afghanistan, because the President doesn’t want to come to a hasty decision about a request to send additional troops.
Again, with all due respect Mr. President, American soldiers are being killed!
America has managed to survive for over 200 years without nationalized health care, a few more weeks wouldn’t make that much of a difference.
Instead of worrying about if someone can get a free doctor’s visit, focus instead on this country’s young men and women who are giving their lives in a foreign land.
Pull all of our forces out, send more troops, don’t send more troops, but in the respect of all that is decent and honorable, make a decision!
Frayed alliances?
Does the President really think that traveling to various countries and apologizing for the so-called “mistakes” of America has made us the darlings of the world?
The leaders and citizens of most of those countries are laughing behind the President’s back, while North Korea and Iran, two nations run by certifiable nut cases, continue to work towards building a nuclear arsenal.
Yes, President Obama did inherit some serious issues.
However, he asked for the job.
America gave it to him.
It’s time that he stop blaming the guy who had the job before him for everything that he has failed to fix.
And before all of you who will send a comment saying “Well, give the man a chance, he’s only been in office for a year” respond to this article, do us this favor.
Point out where the unemployment rate has dropped, where the stock market has rebounded, where federal spending on dubious programs has been cut back, or where President Obama has made any significant progress towards getting America back on it’s feet.
Those of you who call Iraq and Afghanistan “George Bush’s wars’s” point out where we are any closer to seeing the end of the carnage.
Show us where the threat of a terrorist attack has been significantly reduced.
And when you have failed to do so, it will be time for all of you who apologize for President Obama, as well as the President himself, to face one cold hard fact.
George Bush isn’t President anymore.
As Usual, Liberals Take Credit For Things That They Didn’t Do
October 28, 2009
A person responding to one of our recent articles taking liberals to task left a comment about all the legislation that would not have occured were it not for liberals.
I suppose the implication being that if it weren’t for the efforts of liberals alone, without any input from conservatives, nothing good would have ever happened in America.
In typical liberal fashion, when called upon to account for some of the heinous acts commited by those on the left, this individual took the usual left-wing tactic of simply ignoring the point of the story and responded with a “Yeah, but what about this?” attitude.
We don’t have the patience to correct all of this person’s misconceptions (and he probably still wouldn’t get it anyway), but ther are a couple of glaring examples we would like to highlight.
This person was attempting to put for the proposition that if it were not for liberals, we would not have safe water to drink or clean air to breathe.
Really?
Ever hear of something called the EPA?
Environmental Protection Agency ring any bells?
If you had called the man who was the brainchild behind the EPA and the one who signed the legislation bringing the agency into existence a liberal, you would have bent sent off to an insane asylum.
Former Republican President Richard Nixon may have been many things, but being a liberal was not one of them.
Is that the only thing that conservatives can take credit for regarding the environment?
Who required that Federal agencies follow the law regarding environmental policy, use renewable energy sources, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions?
That was another man no one in their right mind would label a liberal, George Bush, when in January of 2007 he signed Executive Order 13423.
Another point that this person was trying to make that if it weren’t for liberals America’s labor force would not have a safe work environment.
Fortunately, we have the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Who do we have to thank for OSHA?
Once again, if you called the man who signed the legislation that was the birth of OSHA a liberal, Richard Nixon might have punched you in the nose.
We could go on and on with this, but here is the bottom line:
Maybe somewhere out there exists a liberal who, when they read something and they don’t agree with the premise of the article, can actually addres the issues raised in the article.
Rather than respond with something totally off topic.
I’m not holding my breath.
Obama Won’t Be Able To Beat The System
October 16, 2009
Barack Obama may have beaten the odds.
He may be giving it what he considers to be his best.
But that probably won’t be good enough.
At an election night party during the primaries last year I made a throwaway comment disparaging those who believed Barack Obama’s mixed-race identity gave him a unique understanding of America’s racial problems.
“It does,” said one woman.
I explained that I was joking. She was not. “It really does,” she continued. “He knows how black people think and he knows how white people think.”
“If that’s what it took then Tiger Woods [whose father is of African American, Chinese and Native American descent and mother is of Thai, Chinese and Dutch descent] should be president and Nelson Mandela should have stayed in the Transkei,” I said.
“So why’s he doing so well?” she asked. I suggested it was probably his stance on the war, the state of the economy and a desire to move on from the Clinton-Bush duopoly combined with his grassroots organising experience and use of new technology.
“There’s more to it than that,” she said. “It’s him.”
It is almost impossible to have an intelligent conversation about Obama. The problem isn’t that people come to him with baggage. Everyone comes to everything in politics with baggage. It’s that they refuse to check it in or even declare it. Any conversation about what he does rapidly morphs into one about who he is and what he might be.
In New Jersey more than a third of the conservatives…Read the rest of this entry
Moonbats Unhinged: When Liberals Attack
October 11, 2009
The video is from a few years ago, but the question remains the same:
What the hell is wrong with these people?
Let’s ask a better question:
Where are all these moonbats hiding now that Obama is President?
These people are nothing more than morally bankrupt bast**ds!
All of this “concern” for the troops when Bush was President, now it seems they have all gone back home to work on restyling their tinfoil hats.
Where are the members of Code Pink?
Why haven’t we seen reports of recruiting station entrances being blocked, and crowds of these moonbats trying to keep young men and women from enlisting in the military?
“Why enlist to die for a lie?” asks a sign held by some hypocrite.
I say hypocrite because these “peace” marchers claimed that it was wrong to risk your life for a war when “Bush lied to us”, “Bush got us into a war under false pretenses.”
And even if someone was misguided enough to believe that, how are things any different now?
Now it’s OK to die serving your country now that Bush is no longer President?
Dying for Bush’s war was wrong, but if you die for Obama’s war, that’s fine?
And make no mistake about it, it is now Obama’s war.
He may have inherited the war, but when he took office as Commander-In-Chief, it became his war.
And the anti-war protestors of Code Pink seem to have crawled into a hole.
So I would like to ask the members of Code Pink one question:
If the war was immoral when Bush was President, how did it become noble and righteous by Obama being elected?
My Nomination For Media Pinhead Of The Year…And No, It’s Not Letterman
June 20, 2009
On second thought, maybe David “Zippy The Pinhead” Letterman wins by default.
Therefore, I wish to present my nomination for media hypocrite of the year, CBS News/60 Minutes personality Morley Safer.
In a short story in a recent edition of the New York Post outlining an interview done with Safer at a Canadian awards dinner, he was quoted as having said that one of his all-time favorite interview subjects was Dolly Parton.
Later, when he was asked about his opinion regarding bloggers and new media, he was not nearly as gracious.
His comment was “I would trust a citizen journalist as much as I would trust a citizen surgeon.
The obvious implication being that those of us in the blogging community are not as trustworthy or accurate as members of his profession.
If given the chance to interview Mr. Safer, I would pose the following questions:
“Mr. Safer, you seem to feel that bloggers are not as accurate in their reporting as yourself and your fellow correspondents on 60 Minutes. Allow me to ask sir, is this the same 60 Minutes that:
Presented documents regarding George Bush’s service in the Texas Air National Guard that were proven to be such blatant forgeries that the report lead to the firing/resignation of Dan Rather?
The same “news” program that was exposed (by the Power Line blog, hmmm) as having fabricated stories about Karl Rove?
The “credible news outlet” that showed footage of military-grade machine guns being fired at bulletproof vests when doing a report on how “deadly” semi-automatic rifles are?
Finally, years ago, your program did a report regarding how a certain brand of German automobile would unexpectedly shift itself into gear and begin to accelerate. Later it was discovered that despite repeated attempts, these cars did not do what your show claimed, so your program had the cars transmissions tampered with so the footage would show them doing so. can you explain that one sir?
And you have the audacity that those of us in the blogging community are not to be trusted?
Well, Mr. Safer, if your statement was meant to leave a lasting impression, it certainly worked in my case.
From now on, whenever I hear the word “boobs’, I will think of two things.
Dolly Parton.
And you.
“You Sound Really Stupid When You Don’t Bother To Get Basic Facts Right”
June 19, 2009
In response to one of our recent articles, George Bush Was The Worst President Ever!, the title being a play on words to point out that, despite media bias to the contrary, Bush was much more effective than some of his predecessors, a reader left the following comment:
Jack Black on June 17th, 2009 3:12 PM:
“You might read your history to see that Reagan’s election team paid Iran not to release the hostages while Carter was President- so Carter would not have the boost of freeing the hostages help him win the election. Carter also sent men to extract the hostages but they were all killed.
You sound really stupid when you don’t bother to get basic facts right.”
I wanted to clear things up for Mr. Black, but my response proved to be a bit long for a standard comment, so I decided to respond in this manner:
Jack:
So you claim I don’t have my basic facts right.
How about you?
The Last Words Of An American Soldier
June 14, 2009
One of our readers sent us the following, and asked if we would help pass it along.
We are proud to do so.
A Soldier’s last words, Oct 22, 2007 8:52 pm
SGT. Edmund John Jeffer’s last few words were some of the most touching, inspiring and most truthful words spoken since the tragedy of 9/11 – and since our nation went to war.
SGT. Jeffers was a strong soldier and talented writer. He died in Iraq on September 19, 2007.
He was a loving husband, brother and son.
His service was more than this country could ever grasp – but the least you can do for the man who sacrificed his life for you … is listen to what he had to say.
Compare his observations to the cynicism of the Cindy Sheehans and Al Frankens, Chris Mathews, Keith Olberman, MSNBC, CNN, NBC and CBS who presume to call themselves ‘patriots’…..
Hope Rides Alone
By Eddie Jeffers
I stare out into the darkness from my post, and I watch the city burn to the ground.
I smell the familiar smells, I walk through the familiar rubble, and I look at the frightened faces that watch me pass down the streets of their neighborhoods.
My nerves hardly rest; my hands are steady on a device that has been given to me from my government for the purpose of taking the lives of others.
I sweat, and I am tired.
My back aches from the loads I carry.
Young American boys look to me to direct them in a manner that will someday allow them to see their families again…and yet, I too, am just a boy….my age not but a few years more than that of the ones I lead.
I am stressed, I am scared, and I am paranoid…because death is everywhere.
It waits for me, it calls to me from around street corners and windows, and it is always there.
There are the demons that follow me, and tempt me into thoughts and actions that are not my own…but that are necessary for survival.
I’ve made compromises with my humanity.
And I am not alone in this.
Miles from me are my brethren in this world, who walk in the same streets…who feel the same things, whether they admit to it or not.
And to think, I volunteered for this…
And I am ignorant to the rest of the world…or so I thought.
But even thousands of miles away, in Ramadi , Iraq, the cries and screams and complaints of the ungrateful reach me.
In a year, I will be thrust back into society from a life and mentality that doesn’t fit your average man.
And then, I will be alone.
And then, I will walk down the streets of America , and see the yellow ribbon stickers on the cars of the same people who compare our President to Hitler.
I will watch the television and watch the Cindy Sheehans, and the Al Frankens, and the rest of the ignorant sheep of America spout off their mouths about a subject they know nothing about.
It is their right, however, and it is a right that is defended by hundreds of thousands of boys and girls scattered across the world, far from home.
I use the word boys and girls, because that’s what they are.
In the Army, the average age of the infantryman is nineteen years old. The average rank of soldiers killed in action is Private First Class.
People like Cindy Sheehan are ignorant.
Not just to this war, but to the results of their idiotic ramblings, or at least I hope they are.
They don’t realize its effects on this war.
In this war, there are no Geneva Conventions, no cease fires.
Medics and Chaplains are not spared from the enemy’s brutality because it’s against the rules.
I can only imagine the horrors a military Chaplain would experience at the hands of the enemy.
The enemy slinks in the shadows and fights a coward’s war against us.
It is effective though, as many men and women have died since the start of this war.
And the memory of their service to America is tainted by the inconsiderate remarks on our nation’s news outlets.
And every day, the enemy changes…only now, the enemy is becoming something new.
The enemy is transitioning from the Muslim extremists to Americans.
The enemy is becoming the very people whom we defend with our lives.
And they do not realize it.
But in denouncing our actions, denouncing our leaders, denouncing the war we live and fight, they are isolating the military from society…and they are becoming our enemy.
Democrats and peace activists like to toss the word ‘quagmire’ around and compare this war to Vietnam .
In a way they are right, this war is becoming like Vietnam .
Not the actual war, but in the isolation of country and military.
America is not a nation at war; they are a nation with its military at war.
Like it or not, we are here, some of us for our second, or third times; some even for their fourth and so on. Americans are so concerned now with politics, that it is interfering with our war.
Terrorists cut the heads off of American citizens on the Internet…and there is no outrage, but an American soldier kills an Iraqi in the midst of battle, and there are investigations, and sometimes soldiers are even jailed…for doing their job.
It is absolutely sickening to me to think our country has come to this.
Why are we so obsessed with the bad news?
Why will people stop at nothing to be against this war, no matter how much evidence of the good we’ve done is thrown in their face?
When is the last time CNN or MSNBC or CBS reported the opening of schools and hospitals in Iraq ?
Or the leaders of terror cells being detained or killed?
It’s all happening, but people will not let up their hatred of Bush.
They will ignore the good news, because it just might show people that Bush was right.
America has lost its will to fight.
It has lost its will to defend what is right and just in the world.
The crazy thing of it all is that the American people have not even been asked to sacrifice a single thing.
It’s not like World War Two, where people rationed food, and turned in cars to be made into metal for tanks.
The American people have not been asked to sacrifice anything.
Unless you are in the military or the family member of a service member, its life as usual…the war doesn’t affect you.
But it affects us.
And when it is over, and the troops come home, and they try to piece together what’s left of them after their service…where will the detractors be then?
Where will the Cindy Sheehans be to comfort and talk to soldiers and help them sort out the last couple years of their lives, most of which have been spent dodging death and wading through the deaths of their friends?
They will be where they always are, somewhere far away, where the horrors of the world can’t touch them. Somewhere where they can complain about things they will never experience in their lifetime; things that the young men and women of America have willingly taken upon their shoulders.
We are the hope of the Iraqi people.
They want what everyone else wants in life: safety, security, somewhere to call home.
They want a country that is safe to raise their children in. Not a place where their children will be abducted, raped, and murdered if they do not comply with the terrorists demands.
They want to live on, rebuild and prosper.
And America has given them the opportunity, but only if we stay true to the cause, and see it to its end.
But the country must unite in this endeavor…we cannot place the burden on our military alone. We must all stand up and fight, whether in uniform or not.
And supporting us is more than sticking yellow ribbon stickers on your cars.
It’s supporting our President, our troops and our cause.
Right now, the burden is all on the American soldiers.
Right now, hope rides alone.
But it can change, it must change.
Because there is only failure and darkness ahead for us as a country, as a people, if it doesn’t.
Let’s stop all the political nonsense, let’s stop all the bickering, let’s stop all the bad news, and let’s stand and fight!
Eddie’s father, David Jeffers, writes:
I’m not sure how many letters or articles you’ve ever read from the genre of ‘News from the Front,’ but this is one of the best I’ve ever read, including all of America’s wars.
As I was reading this, I forgot that it was my son who had written it.
My emotions range from great pride to great sorrow, knowing that my little boy (22 years old) has become this man.
He is my hero.
Thank all of you for your prayers for him; he needs them now more than ever. God bless. Though Eddie is no longer with us, you can help to let his voice be heard.

Right off of the bat, I would like to see you provide myself and our Freedom Medium readers with PROOF, not an opinion piece, not innuendo, not supposition, but PROOF, actual evidence that the payoff you claim actually occurred.
What actually happened was that after Reagan’s election, but before his inauguration, he and his team, with the help of Algerian diplomats, began negotations with Iran.
On the day of Reagan’s inauguration, the United States released Iranian assets that had been seized by the U.S. government and the hostages were freed.
It had been made very clear to the ruling powers in Iran that if the hostages were not freed, as soon as Reagan became President his first orders would be to begin military actions against Iran, and they would not be the pathetic effort that Carter put forth.
Now, as to Carter.
The hostages were seized in November of 1979 (take note Jack, a YEAR before the election.
In April of 1980 (another tidbit Jack, it took Carter six months to get around to doing something besides trying to talk to people who weren’t listening) the U.S attempted a rescue attempt.
Contrary to your implication that Reagan paid off the Iranian government in order to help his election chances, Carter, well aware that he was slipping in the polls, pressured his military commanders to hastily put together one of the poorest planned, poorly executed operations in military history.
Using helicopters that were not properly outfitted for desert operations, a team of U.S. commandos attempted a rescue of the hostages.
Three of the helicopters crashed in the desert, and eight members of the rescue team were killed.
Carter tried to pull this off in spite of advice to the contrary from some of his highest-level advisors, and the rescue mission proved to be such a debacle that afterwards, Carter’s Secretary of State, Cyrus Vance, resigned in disgust.
Are those facts basic enough for you Jack?
Or was the premise of the article beyond your level of comprehension?
It seems fairly obvious that you are more interested in name calling than you are in having a rational discussion regarding a point of view that may not agree with your own.
And don’t worry, your name calling didn’t hurt my feelings, such a response is typical of people like you.
The truth is, 52 American citizens were held hostage for 444 days while Carter, the second-most pathetic excuse this country has ever had for a President did nothing, except manage to be a cause of the deaths of the soldiers who were sent on a rescue mission without the proper planning or equipment, all in the name of political gain.
Reagan, on the other hand, before he even took office, began negotiations that led to the hostage’s release.
And you may not think it’s right, but that’s a fact Jack!
P.S. If you need some additional “basic facts” as to what an incompetent boob that Carter was, do some research as to how Ross Perot hired a former Green Beret to (successfully) rescue employees of his firm that were taken hostage in the same time period.
