Tea Party Nation Drafts Declaration Of Independence

February 25, 2010

Tea Party activists are circulating what they call the “Tea Party Declaration of Independence,” a document meant to define the movement and establish its independence from Republicans.

Activist Bob MacGuffie stated that leading Tea Party activists came up with the idea while attending a meeting hosted by Freedom Works.

Among the statements made in this document are that the Tea Party movement will reject any attempts by the Republican Party to co-opt the movement, will work against any “RINO’s the GOP may nominate, as well as declaring their freedom from Democrats and members of the liberal media as well.

The Tea Party Declaration Of Independence is the second major set of ideals set forth by the Tea Party in recent weeks, the other being the Contract From America, which was unveiled at the recent Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), where conservative leaders presented the Mount Vernon Statement.

The Spirit Of ‘76 Is NOT Dead!

July 6, 2009

On July 4th, we presented an article calling for a modern-day Declaration Of Independence.

As fate would have it, later that day something happened that made me believe it to be possible.

That night, my hope for the future of this country received a real shot in the arm.

I don’t put much faith in coincedence, but it had to be fate that drew me there, and strenghtened my conviction that we can stop Obama and his Marxist minions from taking America away from us.

My wife and I went to a fireworks display that was held at a high-school football stadium.

Seating was only available on one side of the stadium, as as we made our way to the bleachers, we saw that set up in front of them was a large stage where a band was playing.

This was our first time at this particular venue, and what happened a little later on gave me a renewed sense of hope for the future of America.

As it started to grow closer to dusk, the band stopped playing, and a man took the stage.

After thanking everyone for coming, he asked if any veterans that were in the audience would please stand up and remain standing.

After the applause died down, the announcer, who had to take a moment to compose himself, said:

“Take a good like at these men and women. You could never begin to repay the debt you owe them. The only reason that the rest of you are able to be here today is because of the sacrifices they made, and continue to make, for your freedom.”

At that point, he asked everyone else to rise for the playing of our National Anthem, and as the final notes of The Star Spangled Banner faded from the public address system, the crowd went absolutely berserk.

People were yelling at the top of their lungs “USA, USA” and stomping their feet to the point that I thought the bleachers might collapse.

When things quieted down, I turned to an older gentleman sitting next to me and asked if this was something that happened every year.
His response was:

“I’ve been coming to see the fireworks for as long as they’ve been doing it here.
And every year, they do the part about asking the vets to stand up.
And I have never, in all the years that I’ve come here, seen a reaction like this.
I think people are getting fed up, and they want their country back, the country they grew up in.”

Damn right we do.

A Modern-Day Declaration Of Independence

July 4, 2009

Today we mark the anniversary of America’s Declaration of Independence.

Fifty-six men signed what what is beyond a doubt one of the greatest political documents ever written.

What price did they ultimately pay for this heroic action?

During the Revolutionary War, some were captured by the British Army and held as prisoners of war, many had their homes vandalized and looted, and in some cases destroyed, one had his wife held as a captive of the British for months, many were left destitute at the end of the war, and one suffered the loss of a son killed in battle.

Now, for those of you who may not have ever read the full text of this document, click here to do so.

None of what is being written here today is meant to be construed as advocating the taking up of arms against the government.

However, there are some left among us that realize that the challenges America faces today are similar to those that prompted such men as Thomas Jefferson, Button Gwinnett, Richard Henry Lee, and fifty three others to take a stand against oppression and tyranny.

Some of the challanges that our government is forcing us to face today are:

Appeasement of our country’s enemies.
Failure to heed the will of the people.
Looting of the public treasury.
The imposition of unfair and unwarranted taxes.
Exceeding Constitutional authority.

And the list goes on and on.

We as patriotic Americans refuse to simply stand by and allow this to happen.

So in a latter day version of the same spirit of justice shown by 56 brave men 233 years ago, let it be known throughout the land:

“We shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.”

And to this we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.
