Barack Obama Is Not A Socialist

February 25, 2010

That is the message President Barack Obama presented to a group of business leaders yesterday.

Some of what President Obama had to say:

“Contrary to the claims of some of my critics, I am an ardent believer in the free market.”

”I believe businesses like yours are the engines of economic growth in this country.”

“I firmly believe that America’s success in large part depends on your success.”

President Obama then went on to speak to the gathering of CEO’s about his plans to reform health care, impose new regulations for the financial industry, amd to move America towards a “green” economy.

Barack Obama claiming he supports free market economics is about as believable as Bill Clinton saying “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.”

Obama Buddy Plans To End Capitalism

November 7, 2009

This weekend we will be bringing you a series of articles that may escape your notice otherwise, but that we feel are important enough for you to know about them.
In this one, learn how Obama supporter George Soros wants to remake the world’s financial system.

Having purchased, rented, or placed a down payment on all the political influence up for sale in America, leftist troublemaker George Soros now plans to ramp up his war on markets worldwide by creating an “Institute for New Economic Thinking” (INET).

“The system we have now has actually broken down, only we haven’t quite recognized it and so you need to create a new one and this is the time to do it,” Soros told the Financial Times last month.

Soros said he wants Communist China to run this new financial system. “You really need to bring China into the creation of a new world order, a financial world order,” Soros said.

If that doesn’t send a chill down the spines of freedom lovers in America and elsewhere, nothing will.

In an interview with Der Spiegel last year Soros said European-style socialism “is exactly what we need now. I am against market fundamentalism. I think this propaganda that government involvement is always bad has been very successful — but also very harmful to our society.”

As preparation for INET, which already has a functioning website, Soros gathered economists to plot his renewed drive for world statism. One of those economists is Joseph Stiglitz, a member of the Socialist International. Stiglitz sits on SI’s Commission on Global Financial Issues, which was created “to address from a social democratic perspective the ongoing global financial crisis.” Of course to socialists a capitalist economy is by definition always in crisis, but that’s a discussion for another day.

INET’s website quotes socialist Stiglitz saying, “The financial crisis has caused a moment of deep reflection in the economics profession, for it has put many long-standing ideas to the test. If science is defined by its ability to forecast the future, the failure of much of the economics profession to see the crisis coming should be a cause of great concern.”

Soros, the de facto owner of America’s Democratic Party who spent over $20 million to prevent President Bush’s reelection in 2004, plans to shell out $50 million for INET over a decade and hopes matching funds will bring in another $150 million.

Unemployment Hits 9.8%

October 2, 2009

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released the early numbers for the September job situation today:

Nonfarm payroll employment continued to decline in September
(-263,000), and the unemployment rate (9.8 percent) continued to trend up. The largest job losses were in construction,
manufacturing, retail trade, and government.

The 7 Wonders of Communism

September 30, 2009

Communism sure is a miraculous system. When I heard the following I was reminded of George Orwell’s 1984.

The 7 Wonders of Communism (AKA, Socialism)

1. Everybody holds a job.

2. Even though everybody holds a job, no one actually works.

3. Even though no one actually works, the production plans are being fulfilled.

4. Even though the production plans are being fulfilled, there are shortages.

5. Even though there are shortages, one can somehow obtain everything.

6. Even though one can somehow obtain everything, everybody keeps stealing things from the state.

7. Even though everybody keeps stealing things from the state, there was enough for everyone.

This satirical account of the Communist system has been disseminated throughout Eastern Europe where Communism bankrupted and led to the destruction of the Soviet Union and its economy.

9-12 March On Washington Recap

September 13, 2009

Yesterday’s demonstration in Washington D.C. was a thunderous statement to “the powers that be” (as John Conyers calls them) that the people are not happy with the way the country is being run since Democrats took over power in 2006.

As much as the pundits and government-run media outlets try to downplay or propagandize what happened yesterday, they just will not be able to keep the citizen patriots quite or discourage them. And President Obama better be paying attention because the people who marched down Pennsylvania Avenue on September 12th represent the majority of this country. A majority who has decided it will be silent no longer.

I was fortunate enough to travel to D.C. yesterday on one of the buses that the local Tea Party organization put together yesterday for the march. Yes, I had to pay my own way to get on the bus as did everyone else. Dick Armey didn’t pick up the bill for any of us. It was an unforgettable experience and I am so proud to have been part of it. The people I talked and marched with were regular folks, many of whom have never been politically active before in their lives, but who just could not stand allowing the government to shove their policies down our throats without being heard.

There were people of all ages, races, and political backgrounds at the event which was entirely peaceful and orderly. I saw no signs of Obama as Hitler and I did not feel that the tone of the demonstration was angry, although the folks were angry at their representatives who are not listening to them. So the Associated Press’s report of the event is pretty flawed and most likely was just made up by someone who didn’t even attend.

Here are some pictures I took while in D.C. yesterday:

My favorite part of the march was when people started chanting “You lie, You lie!” showing solidarity to Rep. Joe Wilson who called President Obama out during his speech before Congress last Wednesday.

The main topics of discussion yesterday were obviously government-run health care and “cap and trade”, but perhaps the most discussed topic was how the media would be covering the event, if they covered it at all.

People everywhere were getting reports from family and friends on what the news was reporting and shouting it out so everyone around them could hear. Whenever we heard that the media was saying 10’s of thousands of people were there, it resulted in an outburst of laughter from the crowd. That’s because at any given time during the day there were 10’s of thousands of people in line for the bathroom! There was clearly a momentous crowd of people that showed up.

For those who still don’t believe it, you can see pretty much the entire crowd that showed up in this time lapse video that I found on Michelle Malkin’s blog:

You tell me if that is 60,000 people or millions.

Obama Should Leave GM Alone & Beat Up ON North Korea For A While

June 19, 2009

When Joe Biden predicted during the 2008 campaign that, if elected, Barack Obama would quickly be tested by the world, many people (some for the first time) took Biden seriously. And yes, it is more likely that it was not Biden’s prediction but rather something he was warned of and should have kept quiet about, but that’s just Joe being Joe.

So far President Obama has had two very challenging tests and he has chosen two very different ways of handling each of them.

The first test was the global financial crisis which has its roots in the U.S. housing markets. President Obama chose to handle this crisis by completely immersing himself (and the federal government) into the situation. He passed the largest spending bill in history, after sufficiently scaring the public and the private sector into paralysis, telling the public that we needed to act right away or we may never fully recover. He also said his bill was designed to create jobs and thaw the frozen credit markets, something which still hasn’t happened yet. President Obama then continued the bailout mania which started toward the end of the 2008 election season, and the government now owns much of the failures in the auto and banking industry.

The second test has to do with the brazen nuclear missile launches by the North Korean government. Obama has decided to handle this a little differently than his first crisis, using more of a hands-off approach. Instead of the panic-inducing rhetoric that Obama used to take action on the financial crisis, Obama and Secretary of State Clinton have been generally quite about the actions of North Korea. There have been no addresses to the American people from the oval office speaking of the “dangers of doing nothing” and there have been no press conferences held on what the Obama administration intends to do about Kim Jong Il’s consistent disregard of the agreements North Korea has made with the rest of the world.

Instead all we hear from Secretary Clinton is that the Obama administration is considering putting North Korea back on the list of states that sponsor terrorism, and that she takes the actions of North Korea “very seriously”. An explanation of how weak and ineffective such a response is won’t be necessary since the North Koreans are demonstrating it all the time with new missile tests. In fact the latest test of their Taepodong-2 missile, which is planned for July 4th, will be directed toward Hawaii. That’s right, while Americans are celebrating our independence; North Koreans will be testing ways to take it away from us. But don’t worry, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton take this stuff seriously…

The solutions President Obama has been promoting for the problems this country faces seem to be backwards.

Take General Motors for example. The federal government propped-up GM to the point where we-the-people are now majority owners in the company. The government kept sending money to GM in order for the company to somehow avoid bankruptcy. Failing to do so, the government is now the biggest influence on the company’s Chapter 11 proceedings much to the dismay of GM bondholders and to the delight of union bosses. This is the most profound example of where “doing nothing” would have been the best option for the government to take.

In the case of North Korea, the United States is faced with an extremely volatile regime that now has nuclear weapons capabilities. North Korea is testing the extent of their nuclear capabilities in order to refine and improve upon them, eventually enabling North Korea to threaten the interests of the United States. The problems that North Korea has provided for the U.S. have become increasingly worse since Bill Clinton and Madeline Albright were in office, and now they are only a few years away from being able to reach the Hawaiian Islands with nukes. Some might say that this is a situation where “doing nothing is not an option,” but the Obama response so far has amounted to pretty much just that.

Fighting North Korea with words and pieces of paper is not going to stop the progress toward their nuclear goals. Kim Jong Il has already forfeited the war of words a long time ago when he lied about his nuclear intentions and broke the treaties and agreements of the past. North Korea is now only interested in a war of actions and the Obama administration with Secretary Clinton must recognize that and act before it is too late.

The primary role of the federal government is to keep this country’s citizens safe, yet President Obama seems resistant to inject himself into the North Korean crisis. Kim Jong Il will view this as weakness and he will be emboldened to do what he wishes. At the same time the federal government’s role in the private sector economy is strictly limited on purpose by design of the founding fathers, yet Obama insists on injecting himself into the economic crisis. In both instances he is making the problem worse, instead of better. The only way to reverse the troubling course we are on is if Obama starts employing a more hands-on strategy with North Korea like he did with the financial crisis, and he abandons his assault on free market capitalism.

Joe Biden may have been right about the tests that Obama would face when elected President, but he appears to be wrong about one thing: President Obama is not passing his test with “flying colors”.
