Scott Brown Is Elected, Not Allowed To Vote In The Senate

In the past few days, the Senate has voted on three major pieces of legislation:

Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke’s confirmation.
Establishing spending caps.
Raising the federal debt ceiling.

In these and other matters that have been voted on in the Senate since Brown’s election, the Senator from Massachusetts casting a vote has been Paul Kirk.

This is after numerous Democrat leaders claiming that Brown would be seated immediately, in accordance with Massachusetts state law.

Where is the outcry, not only from the citizens of the Bay State, but from the leadership of the GOP?

Rush Limbaugh Wins Dance Contest

January has been a pretty good month for conservative talk radio show host Rush Limbaugh,
First Air America goes belly-up. (Not that they were any competition.)
Now, he wins a dance contest for the judges at the Miss America pageant.
Is there anthing that the Doctor of Democracy can’t do?

Limbaugh told his listeners of his win on Friday:

“Last night was the final night of the preliminaries. Last night’s emcee was Dena Blizzard, comedienne from New Jersey. She involved, off the cuff, us six judges. She said, “You know, it’s time for us to judge the judges.”

Limbaugh did a dance routine he calls the Jersey fist bump, and was called up to the stage as the winner.

President Obama Calls For An End To Perpetual Campaigns. Except His Own Of Course

President Barack Obama speaking during his State Of The Union Address:

“What frustrates the American people is a Washington where every day is Election Day. We can’t wage a perpetual campaign.”

Sounds like a call for the end to partisan politics.
Perhaps brought on by Scott Brown’s recent victory in Massachusetts, which to anyone besides the most egotistical man to ever occupy the White House, is that the Republicans, nor the Democrats for that matter, are not really currently running a political campaign.

The American people are running a political campaign.

They are campaigning for conservatives, and against liberals, as a means to voicing their opposition to the Obama administration’s never ending push to ram healthcare “reform” down our throats, in spite of overwhelming public opposition to Obamacare.

And of course there are a few other minor details that are causing this campaign that’s not a campaign, such as Obama’s out of control spending, unemployment figures, and the general state of the American economy.

So what answer does President Obama come up with to change Washington from running a “perpetual campaign?”

Mere minutes after the President finished delivering his State Of The Union message, the members of Obama’s Army, otherwise known as Organizing For America, sent out the following mass e-mail on the President’s behalf:

“I just finished delivering my State Of The Union address. I set out an urgent plan for restoring economic security for struggling middle-class families.”
“Help fuel our fight for the middle class with a monthly donation of $15 or more.”

So a few minutes after Obama saying that we must put an end to every day being seen in washington as Election Day, what does the part of Obama’s campaign team known as Organizing For America do?

Sends out an e-mail to millions of supporters, many of whom are the same middle-class families the President spoke of, soliciting campaign contributions!

News flash Mr. President: The election that you ran in is over, and you won!!

Isn’t it about time you stopped asking for money?

The Latest Example Of Liberal Lunacy

The moonbats are at it again.

As each day goes by, I become more and more convinced that liberals have to be some sort of alien life form from another planet.

It seems to be the only explanation for utterly stupid things that concern them.

I was sort of hoping that with the Christmas season behind us, this “separation of Church and State” silliness would go away for awhile.

In the latest example of liberal lunacy, the Freedom From Religon Foundation is urging a boycott of the United States Postal Service.

What has these mental midgets so outraged is that the USPS plans to issue a postage stamp honoring a woman.

This woman:

Mother Teresa.

A Nobel Prize winner who, unlike some recent folks awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, actually did something to earn the award.

The Freedom From Religon Foundation had this comment:

“Mother Teresa is principally known as a religious figure who ran a religious institution. You can’t really separate her being a nun and being a Roman Catholic from everything she did.”

Right.

Like spending her lifetime doing humanitarian work in the poverty and squalor of Calcutta.

The idiot liberal (redundant) members of the Freedom From Religon Foundation are among the left-wing whack jobs who are always running their mouths about how we all have an obligation to help those less fortunate than us, would be singing the praises of Mother Teresa if she had  been an atheist.

Because she was a Roman Catholic nun, she shouldn’t have her picture on a postage stamp.

Just what planet do these people come from anyway?

President Obama Is Preparing To Impose Martial Law

Some of you are asking, “Carl, how could you make such an outrageous statement?”

Well, just as dark clouds indicate that it is about to rain, when all of the signs point at something, it’s not paranoia, simply an acceptance of the facts.

Barack Obama recently, without any publicity (that should set off alarm bells by itself) signed an Executive Order establishing a “Council Of Governors.”

OK, first off, I call it Obama’s latest violation of the Constitution for the following reasons:

If you read the Executive Order carefully, you will see that is an attempt to put the National Guard, units which are based in individual states, under the control of the federal government. This is in direct violation of the 10th Amendment, which reads as follows:

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

In other words Mr. President, the Constitution doesn’t give you the right to do this!

As far as this un-Constitutional document being enforced in the case of a national emergency, it fails to spell out just what would prompt the enforcement of its provisions, which in my opinion, the way I’m reading it, a violation of the 14th Amendment:

“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.
No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”

The provisions in this Executive Order that outline the Synchronization and integration of state and Federal military activities in the United States is a direct violation of the Posse Comitatus Act, which begins with this provision:

“From and after the passage of this act it shall not be lawful to employ any part of the Army of the United States, as a posse comitatus, or otherwise, for the purpose of executing the laws, except in such cases and under such circumstances as such employment of said force may be expressly authorized by the Constitution…”

Now if all of this (should Obama ever try to enforce this thing) isn’t enough to cause a Constitutional crisis, how about how about Obama signing an Executive Order giving law enforcement personnel from foreign countries new police powers within the United States, as was first reported here by World Net Daily.

Maybe all of this is Obama’s way of trying to fufill one of his dumbest campaign proposals:

We here at The Freedom Medium have written a number of articles raising the question of why America would need a civilian defense force when we have the National Guard.

It seems that President Obama was hoping to raise his own private army here in America, directly under federal (his) control.

Well just like Nancy Pelosi saying that one way or another, health care reform would pass. it seems like the President is going to take whatever steps he need to to have an domestic armed force under his control.

We can only speculate as to why he feels the need.

Along with wondering why he continues to ignore the U.S. Constitution.

Democrats, Not “Birthers”, Asking If Obama Is Eligible To Serve

All of a sudden, Democrats, not “birthers”, are asking about Obama’s birth  certificate.

During this year’s U.S. Senate races, it will be Democrats raising the issue of President Obama’s eligibility to occupy the Oval Office.

Politico reported Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee chief Robert Menendez is distributing a memo to U.S. Senate campaign offices stating Democrats need to demand that their opponents answer a series of questions, including, “Do you believe that Barack Obama is a U.S. citizen?”

The report said Menendez wants to use the questions to “frame” opponents and “drive a wedge” between moderates belonging to the GOP and those who have adopted the tea party standards advocating limited government,  fewer regulations and more freedom for Americans.

The Democrat memo said, “Given the pressure Republican candidates feel from the extreme right in their party, there is a critical – yet time-sensitive – opportunity for Democratic candidates.

“We have a finite window when Republicans candidates will feel susceptible to the extremists in their party. Given the urgent nature of this dynamic, we suggest an aggressive effort to get your opponents on the record.”

Sarah Palin’s Analysis Of The State Of The Union Speech

Today we turn to Sarah Palin’s Facebook page to read her thoughts on President Obama’s State Of The Union Address.

While I don’t wish to speak too harshly about President Obama’s state of the union address, we live in challenging times that call for candor. I call them as I see them, and I hope my frank assessment will be taken as an honest effort to move this conversation forward.

Last night, the president spoke of the “credibility gap” between the public’s expectations of their leaders and what those leaders actually deliver. “Credibility gap” is a good way to describe the chasm between rhetoric and reality in the president’s address. The contradictions seemed endless.

He called for Democrats and Republicans to “work through our differences,” but last year he dismissed any notion of bipartisanship when he smugly told Republicans, “I won.”

He talked like a Washington “outsider,” but he runs Washington! He’s had everything any president could ask for – an overwhelming majority in Congress and a fawning press corps that feels tingles every time he speaks. There was nothing preventing him from pursuing “common sense” solutions all along. He didn’t pursue them because they weren’t his priorities, and he spent his speech blaming Republicans for the problems caused by his own policies.

He dared us to “let him know” if we have a better health care plan, but he refused to allow Republicans in on the negotiations or consider any ideas for real free market and patient-centered reforms. We’ve been “letting him know” our ideas for months from the town halls to the tea parties, but he isn’t interested in listening. Instead he keeps making the nonsensical claim that his massive trillion-dollar health care bill won’t increase the deficit.

Americans are suffering from job losses and lower wages, yet the president practically demanded applause when he mentioned tax cuts, as if allowing people to keep more of their own hard-earned money is an act of noblesse oblige. He claims that he cut taxes, but I must have missed that. I see his policies as paving the way for massive tax increases and inflation, which is the “hidden tax” that most hurts the poor and the elderly living on fixed incomes.

Another “F” For Obama

All along, I thought that the grade that President Obama gave himself was pretty generous.
First the WMD commission, and now these folks agree with me.

As expected, Barack Obama’s 70 minute State of the Union address focused heavily on the economy and the domestic political agenda. This was hardly surprising in the aftermath of last week’s catastrophic defeat for his party in the Massachusetts special Senate election, where the Republicans scored an historic victory. American voters are turning strongly against the president’s health care reform package as well as his big government vision for the economy, which has contributed to spiraling public debt and mounting unemployment, now standing at over 10 percent.

But the scant attention paid in the State of the Union speech to US leadership was pitiful and frankly rather pathetic. The war in Afghanistan, which will soon involve a hundred thousand American troops, merited barely a paragraph. There was no mention of victory over the enemy, just a reiteration of the president’s pledge to begin a withdrawal in July 2011. Needless to say there was nothing in the speech about the importance of international alliances, and no recognition whatsoever of the sacrifices made by Great Britain and other NATO allies alongside the United States on the battlefields of Afghanistan. For Barack Obama the Special Relationship means nothing, and tonight’s address further confirmed this.

Zogby Poll: Don’t Close Gitmo

Seems like most people understand what Obama and Pelosi just don’t get.
As long as there is a chance of these people killing us, keep them locked up.

A year ago President Obama vowed to have the Guantanamo Bay terrorist detention facility shut down by now, but Americans seem glad he’s failed to keep that promise.

A new poll from Zogby International reveals a plurality of Americans, including a majority 55 percent of independent voters, do not want the camp closed.

The poll was commissioned by “The O’Leary Report” political newsletter published by Brad O’Leary. O’Leary also is the author of “The Audacity of Deceit” and “Shut Up, America.”"Perhaps the most measurable failure of President Obama’s first year in office is his inability to shut down the U.S. terrorist detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, as he promised to have done by Jan. 2010,” the poll analysis notes.

“However … closing the facility is enormously unpopular with American voters,” the analysis said. “The poll also finds that a strong majority of voters disagree with the Obama administration’s decision to grant constitutional rights and a civil trial to the Nigerian national who tried to bomb an airplane over Detroit on Christmas Day.”

Obama’s Answer For America Is: More Obama

President Obama must be a firm believer in the old saying “If at first you don’t succeed, try try again.”
I guess he never heard the one about what defines doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

There’s a story of an ex hausted tenor at La Scala who, facing repeated cries of “Encore,” responded that he couldn’t go on. A man rose in the audience to say, “You’ll keep singing until you get it right.”

That seems to be the defining principle of the Obama administration — whose response to every problem, every setback, every hiccup and challenge has been, simply, “more Obama.”

Indeed, for people who aren’t sticklers for political jargon, it will be a shock that last night was Obama’s first State of the Union Address, since it was his third formal address to a joint session of Congress. Yet for all of the political déjà vu, what was most surprising last night was the degree to which Obama delivered even more of the same.

Washington graybeards and pundits have been insisting that Obama needs to “start over,” “reboot” and “tack to the middle” after Scott Brown’s win in Massachusetts. But Obama’s response last night was to recommit himself to the agenda that has gotten him in so much trouble.

In fairness, the president took a French-bath of Clintonism before he took to his beloved TelePrompTer. He doused himself with the scent of the deficit-fighter and trade-promoter. He unveiled a slew of small, easy, applause-gathering proposals and populist appeals that he knows will go nowhere.

He also indulged in a lot of feel-your-pain pathos, trying to connect with the real Americans suffering from the recession and the misdeeds of a “Washington” that Obama seems to think is run by someone other than him.
