Perhaps the time has come for American citizens to start taking closer note of their communities. - - - - - - If interested in taking in the sights, it's located on Manhattan's East 96th Street east of Lexington Avenue, but before reaching First Avenue. Take the Lexington Avenue subway trains (#'s 4,5, or 6) to East 96th Street and walk east on 96th Street (you'll be walking downhill towards the East River. If you're headed toward Central Park, you're heading west.) - - - - - - The Madison Avenue, Third Avenue and First Avenue buses run uptown (North). The Fifth Avenue, Lexington Avenue, and Second Avenue buses run downtown (South). A major cross street like 96th Street runs east and west, so therefore the buses that run on 96th street run crosstown. - - - - - - Go to any subway booth and ask the clerk for a subway map. Everyone talks about SOHO, Greenwich Village, Battery Park, Times Square, the Upper Westside or the Eastside or Harlem, Sheepshead Bay, Coney Island, Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Park Slope, Sheepshead Bay, Coney Island, Prospect Park, Borough Park, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Williamsburg, but unless you hear one speaking of Middle Eastern cuisine, you rarely hear about the ATLANTIC AVENUE section of Brooklyn. - - - - - - Where's the outcry from the "Justice Brothers" about the Ft Hood Massacre? - - - - - - Let's call a spade a spade and put the cards on the table. - - - - -That CNN piece says it all in the end . . . . the inciters will stop just short of crossing the line with their invective. - - - - look, this has been going on in NYC longer than would be publicly acknowledged. - - - - - There was always that group that always set up shop at the corner of 45th and Broadway - - - - the individuals with the doo-rags, the walking sticks and the literature about the tribes of Israel - - - -talk about hate speech. - - - - - You'd be surprised at what is in your own neighborhood. This transformation that you are NOW beginning to see has has been going on for many years. It's interesting to see how we've taken our freedom for granted and how certain parties keep probing us - - -to see how much further they can stick us - - - ratcheting things up a notch here, a notch there . . . Back in the early 1960s to 1966 when he died, Lenny Bruce had begun to speak about it before it was fashionable and 'politically correct' (How to Talk Dirty and Influence People, Playboy Press 1965) to do so. Michael Savage is is right when he says it's about Borders, Language and Culture . . . OURS! - - - - By the way, if you haven't seen the movie, ALFIE (1966), it would behoove you to take note of the social commentary that was in 1966 England and how it applies to the United States ever so more so NOW. What's it all about . . . about borders, language and culture . . . OURS!
