Today Is A Day To Raise The American Flag

Today marks the 65th anniversary of the beginning of the end of the largest conflict in human history.

On D-Day, June 6th, 1944 The United States and it’s allies launched the invasion of Normandy, a stronghold of the German Army.

The landings at Normandy are the largest single-day military operation of all time, involving air strikes, five thousand ships, and over two hundred thousand military personnel.

The people who fought and died during this operation were an integral part of putting and end to the threat posed by the Nazis.

America still has millions of citizens who would not hesitate to do the same thing today.

However, rather than turn this into a speech regarding my thoughts about liberty and patriotism, I will let someone else tell the story.

A man who was there.
