A Veteran Needs Your Help
April 24, 2009
What I am about to tell you is a prime example of why we here at Freedom Medium welcome input from our readers.
One of our subscribers e-mailed us the following letter, which he plans on sending to the White House.
He asked us to post it here in the hopes that his fellow veterans would copy it and do the same.
And we are proud to do so.
If you agree with this man’s sentiments, we ask that any of you reading this forward this to each and every person you know.
And urge them to write a letter to President Obama in support of this message.
Not an e-mail, not a fax, but an honest to God letter!
Hopefully, if President Obama receives enough copies of this message, he will see fit to remove a person from his Cabinet that has shown that she is not the right person for the job.
Here’s the letter:
Dear President Obama:
I am writing to inform you of my loathing regarding the recent statements of your Department Of Homeland Security head, Janet Napolitano.
For her to state that returning war veterans are subject to recruitment by right-wing extremist groups bent upon acts of domestic terrorism is insulting beyond belief!
I am proud to say that I served in the armed forces of the United States, and I, as well as anyone either on active duty at this time, or about to be discharged, are saddened to think that this is the opinion we are held in by one of America’s leading officials.
I wore my uniform with a sense of pride, of patriotism, and of duty to my country.
And I feel I can speak for all of my fellow vets when I say that for us to be cast in such a light leaves all of us with a heavy heart.
All of us sacrificed, many of us fought, and thousands of us died in order to help keep America the greatest country on Earth.
We did our duty in order to protect America.
Only to have one of your top Cabinet members portray us as threats to the very security of our country!
That is unacceptable.
During your Presidential campaign, you promised us a better America, a brighter future.
I respectfully ask that you call for the immediate resignation of Ms. Napolitano.
Someone harboring such feelings should have no place as part of your administration.
It is the least you can do for the millions of men and women who have been, and still are, proud to serve America.
Questions that Janet Napolitano Can’t (Or Won’t) Answer
April 24, 2009
Senators Coburn, Brownback, DeMint, Burr, Murkowski, Inhofe, and Vitter sent the following letter to DHS Secretary Napolitano yesterday concerning the DHS conservative hit job:
April 16, 2009
The Honorable Janet Napolitano
Secretary
The Department of Homeland Security
310 7th street, S.W.
Washington, DC 20528-0150
VIA FASCMILLE
Dear Secretary Napolitano,
We write today concerning the release of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report titled “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment” prepared by the Extremism and Radicalization Branch, of the Homeland Environment Threat Analysis Division.
While we agree that we must fight extremists who are both foreign and domestic we are troubled by some of the statements your department included as fact in the report titled above, without listing Read the rest of this entry
What Happened To Code Pink?
April 24, 2009
Two weeks ago, I wrote an article, Code Pink Blocks Recruiting Center Entrance, inviting members of this group to come and visit my home town.
No response.
I know that there are many liberals that read the Freedom Medium, I had hopes that the article might have been forwarded up the liberal chain of command until it reached someone associated with Code Pink.
Perhaps my challenge was taken as a joke, let me assure you, nothing could be further from the truth.
I truly want to see how dedicated the Code Pink folks are to their cause.
The offer is still good.
So if you want to gain some further attention, again. come to where I live, stand in front of a military recruiting center, and attempt to stop me from going inside.
What Do Workers In the Library Tower Think About Waterboarding?
April 23, 2009
As you may have heard, the Obama administration recently released highly classified CIA memos describing the interrogation techniques used on terrorists, against the advice of four former CIA chiefs. Former Vice President Dick Cheney has criticized Obama’s release of these memos without describing what was gained by using the interrogation techniques they mentioned.
It came to light in the release of the 911 report that these interrogation techniques were used after 911. More recently we found out that their use on 911 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed led directly to the break-up of a terrorist plot to attack the Library Tower (tallest skyscraper in California) as a west coast follow up to the attacks in New York. As president, Obama knew this before he released the memos.
I want to preface my following statements by saying that in the opinion of The Freedom Medium waterboarding is not torture when used on terrorists who are withholding information. Anyone who says that it is torture is expressing an opinion; not stating a fact. Calling waterboarding torture is along the same lines of expressing an opnion that humans cause global warming, or that God does not exist.
That said, I can’t help but wonder what the opinion must be of the people who work everyday in the Library Tower (AKA the US Bank Tower). What about their famalies’ opinions?
Put youself in their shoes for a minute. Ask yourself if the government found out that the building your husband, wife, mother, father, son, or daughter works in was the target of a terrorist plot, would you approve of the CIA waterboarding someone who had information but refused to give it? We are asked to sympathize with the person being waterboarded, now I challenge you to sympathize with the people who would be affected if he is not waterboarded.
I would find it hard to believe that a single employee who goes to work at the Library Tower everyday, or any relative thereof, would take the position that we shouldn’t have protected their life by waterboarding KSM. Let’s face it, many of them would probably approve of using even harsher techniques to keep them or their family members alive.
And that is really one of the only responsibilities the president has. To keep our citizens safe. If that means pouring water into the mouth of a filthy piece of scum like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed until he gives up the information he is withholding, then so be it. It saved thousands of American lives. I get the feeling that this administration and many of their friends on the left would be ok with using these techniques on supporters of traditional marriage, so it is hard to take their cries of torture seriously when we waterboard Islamic fascists.
In fact they won’t even say Islamic fascist or War on Terror anymore. They will, however, call returning vets potential terrorists.
There won’t be any investigations of Barney Frank or Chris Dodd when it comes to the real damage they caused the country, but they will possibly investigate the Bush administration which kept us safe for the eight years following 911.
Don’t get me wrong, waterboarding is not something that should be used on anyone or even allowed as a hazing tactic in parts of the military, as it used to be. But if it is not allowed as part of an interrogator’s arsenal in the CIA or the other intelligence agencies, we will be less safe as a nation. We said we would never allow another 911 to happen to us again, but I fear that the Obama administration is not on the same page. Moving forward on these investigations would be a clear sign that Obama and his staff have forgotten the lessons of 911 and are returning the intelligence community to the Dark Ages of September 10th.
Little Known Film Exposes The Inner Workings Of Congress
April 23, 2009
I went in search of a “behind the scenes” look at the inner workings of Congress.
I was hoping to find out just what it is that the members of Congress do, and what motivates them.
And I made a tremendous discovery!
Imagane a film that shows the mindset of such Congressional heavy-hitters as:
Nancy Pelosi
Harry Reid
Chris Dodd
Barney Frank
Maxine Waters
Charles Schumer
There are other famous folks who also star in this production, I won’t have to name them, most of you will be sure to recognize them.
And you will understand that what they do makes just as much sense for America as the performances of the people who received top billing.
Rahm Emanuel’s Plan To Disarm America
April 23, 2009
“Assault” weapons bans.
A return of the “Brady Bill.”
And the implication that anyone who belongs to the NRA is a terrorist.
Not only is this man WAY off base, but the idiots that are applauding his words are just as bad!
If any of the Kool-Aid drinkers in the audience had the brains of a goldfish, they would know that the statistics he quotes near the end of the video are outright lies!
How do you gun control zealots reconcile being so concerned about an issue when you don’t know a damn thing about the truth of it?
Organizing For America Needs YOU!
April 22, 2009
You have to give President Obama credit.
He knew that once the election was over, the lives of his supporters became empty and devoid of meaning.
And being concerned about the well being of these folks, he came up with the idea of Organizing For America, his own private army of volunteers.
The goal of Organizing For America is to visit every city and town in the United States, asking American citizens to sign a pledge card that states that they support the President’s policies.
And so far, they have had some success with getting folks to sign a loyalty oath to President Obama.
However, they do have a need for someone with a special set of skills, and perhaps that is where you may be able to help.
If you have basic math skills, Organizing For America needs your assistance.
See, this is what happened:
Press releases from Organizing For America claimed that they had collected 642.000 pledge cards.
But when questioned on the accuracy of that statement, OFA spokesperson Natalie Wyeth had to admit that although the number of pledge cards that were delivered to Capitol Hill was 642,000, the actual number of people who signed the cards was closer to 214,000.
So if you know how to add and subtract, Organizing For America needs you!

Obama is More Embarrassing Than Bush
April 21, 2009
During the eight years of the Bush presidency we often heard from many critics in the media who couldn’t bear to listen to George W. speak. It was repeated ad nauseum that Bush was embarrassingly inarticulate, especially when speaking around the world. Once Obama was inaugurated — in-between the almost seamless stream of comments about how historical the day was — we heard that at least now we could be proud of our eloquent leader. I remember hearing quite frequently that Obama would “restore America’s image in the world.”
However, I saw things very differently during the Bush years. While Bush may have stumbled over his words, the message was always clear and it was always in favor of the United States. He was not afraid to call evil people evil and to correctly identify our enemies in the war on terror. As a true testament of his advocacy for this country he appointed John Bolton to be the Ambassador to the United Nations, and stood behind him, when the Congress refused to approve Bolton at that position.
I also see the prediction that our image would improve in the world as being completely misguided at this point in time. Almost the complete opposite has happened to the point where our image has not only weakened around the world, but it has also weakened here at home. Our own Secretary of Homeland Security has determined that domestic, “right-wing” terrorist groups led by returning veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars are more of a threat than Islamic radicals from around the world. At the same time people who gathered to have their voices heard at tea parties across the country ended up having their message twisted and distorted by perverts in the media and on the left.
Before Obama was elected we would never have seen our president endure a dictator like Daniel Ortega’s comments describing our country as a terrorist nation without a blistering response. But not only did Obama take it from Ortega, he thanked Ortega for not blaming him for “something that happened when I [Obama] was 3 months old.” You see, Obama was not old enough to save us from ourselves yet when he was that young.
We also would never have seen George Bush travel around the world on an Apology for U.S. Ignorance Tour like Obama did over the past month. The Europeans basically see Obama as a joke ever since.
And people like George Soros and others around the world would never have been able to say things like “the age of Anglo-Saxon capitalism is over,” after a G20 meeting when George Bush was president. However with Obama in the White House it is likely our president now agrees with and welcomes that view.
Though President Bush had his many problems, he was able to gain and keep the respect of the rest of the world’s leaders throughout his presidency. Even if the leaders did not like or outright hated Bush, they knew that he would always follow through on his word, and he would always be advancing the interests of the United States.
With Obama in office these leaders see an opportunity to reduce U.S. influence around the world and advance their own interests ahead of ours. His apologies for United States “ignorance” and capitalism, however they may be intended, are viewed as weakness. These other countries are aware that if we make changes to how we protect ourselves and our allies and we change our engine of prosperity, they will have their chance to knock us out of our leadership role and attempt to take our place. And we will not recognize the world we live in if they end up being correct.
It is becoming more obvious everyday that those who were embarrassed by Bush but now support Obama’s actions around the globe are more interested in style over substance. This is not only an illogical perspective that could end up having detrimental effects on our ability to get things done around the world, but it is also ironic. It seems that it never occurred to them that when they elected someone they could now be more proud of, they were electing someone who is actually embarrassed of them.
Americans Are The Stupidest People On Earth
April 21, 2009
Not all Americans of course.
Salvaterra and I both consider ourselves to be fairly intelligent.
Our staff here at Freedom Medium consists of some of the sharpest people you will find anywhere.
And offhand, I can think of roughly, oh, 57 million Americans who are pretty knowledgeable.
Then there are the people in this video.
And before any of you dismiss this as too unreal to be true, tune into the Tonight Show some night and watch when Jay Leno does his segment called Jaywalking.
I mention all of this because as outlandish as it may seem, all of the people in this video have the right to vote.
I can’t help but wonder who they voted for.
