Organizing For America Leader Admits That They Hope To Form An Army!

In case you haven’t heard of Organizing For America, check this report from Sunday, and then check out this one from Tuesday.

In one of the first deployments of Obama’s troops, this past Saturday volunteers in Birmingham Alabama canvassed high traffic locations asking people to show support for the President’s policies as regards health care, education and energy.

If having someone accost you as you go about your day, asking you to pledge your support for the President isn’t unnerving enough, consider the following:

The people taking part in this event were told not to try and and convert individuals who did not agree with what they were hoping to accomplish.

“We are looking for supporters” said Chris DeHaven, one of the events organizers.
“We’re not looking for a fight. That will come later, when we have an army.”

Now, is that statement simply the misguided feelings of a lone Obama supporter?
Or does it reveal part of a larger agenda?

Either way, such a statement has severe implications, and DeHaven not only imparted that point of view to the other volunteers attending the event, I’m sure he is not the only member of Organizing For America that feels that way.

I think it would be wise for President Obama to, in no uncertain terms, to tell his supporters that such a course of action would be foolhardy in the extreme.

Of the people who did vote in the last Presidential election, 57 million of them did not vote for Barack Obama.
It’s a fairly safe assumption that those folks do not support the President’s policies.

So before one of these Kool-Aid drinking, Kumbaya singing minions of President Obama wants to challenge one of them to a fight, they should seriously consider just what they might be getting themselves into.

Chris DeHaven wants to go looking for a fight, after this group forms an army?
Fine.
However, be advised.
The vast majority of American citizens who may not agree with a particular politician are perfectly content to let bygones be bygones, and to allow the legislative process to have it’s way, regardless of one’s own feelings on an issue.
I’m one of them.
There are many areas, not just politics, where I may not agree with someone’s point of view. You have your ideology, I have mine, so be it.
Most Americans reflect that view.

But get in their face, annoy or threaten them, and you will quickly learn the meaning behind the words “War Is Hell.”
